San Sebastian
The annual San Sebastián International Film Festival will open on September 16, the last in the season of European «A category» film festivals, which incude Berlinale, Canne, Karlovy Vary, Moscow, and Venice, which closed last week.
Once again, San Sebastián will be screening a compelling mix of films from different cultures, with the emphasis on Latin America. It will provide a showcase for the most original, promising new talents from Latin America and offer them the opportunity to present and develop their latest projects, with programs such as Cine en Construcción (Cinema under Construction). And the festival will open with renowned Latin American films from directors such as Arturo Ripstein, Rodrigo García and Enrique Urbizu. Actress Frances McDormand will preside the festival’s jury this year. Also on the jury will be one of Dreamago’s sponsors — Mexican writer and director Guillermo Arriaga.
