AFI-AFM
DREAMAGO IN LOS ANGELES AT AFI: (American Film Institute Festival )
For the fourth year in a row, DreamAgo was present for the Film Fest AFI/AFM (which takes place every November in Los Angeles) to meet with filmmakers from all over the world and to build relationships with producers. For two of those years, AFI Film Festival’s Artistic Director was Rose Kuo, a member of DreamAgo who also sits on the DreamAgo USA board. What serves as a bridge between AFI and DreamAgo is their mutual search for quality and the desire to give voice to films with unique yet universal themes.
In 2008, DreamAgo, after participating in several professional meetings, hosted a wonderful cocktail on the roof of the Roosevelt (see picture on the left) with the financial support of Paveline Studios.

In 2009, we initiated a brilliant partnership with Hamilton International with whom we co-hosted a huge cocktail party, again at the Roosevelt hotel (site of the first Oscar ceremony in 1929) on November 4th, to showcase both DreamAgo & Hamilton. More than 400 filmmakers attended and many of them emailedus after the event to say how much they enjoyed it. DreamAgo flyers were to be found everywhere and our logo was screened before each movie. Collaborating with Hamilton on this event was a real pleasure and we were thrilled to be working with the Hamilton team whose warmth and efficiency added to the success of the evening.
DREAMAGO IN LOS ANGELES AT AFM: (American Film Market )
In 2010, this past November, DreamAgo confirmed its partnership with Hamilton by hosting two major events:
First, a five hour “Speed Dating” session entitled “Hamilton Helps DreamAgo Connect” which brought together many different producers and filmmakers. The international producers, all well established in the field, came from different corners of the world (Germany, USA, Switzerland, Colombia, Israel, UK, Porto Rico, Spain…), as did the filmmakers themselves.
Second, a very informative and entertaining panel entitled, “They optioned your script, they decided to make your movie… Now What?” moderated by Sydney Levine. On the panel Todd Stern (entertainment lawyer), Ronnie Yeskel (casting director), Erik Bright ( publicist) and Mark Damon (producer). The audience was not only enthralled but the filmmakers who attended showered DreamAgo with much positive feedback like that of Jeff Shank, “I just wanted to write to say how much I enjoyed the terrific panel DreamAgo put together for the AFM! I went to ALL the AFM panels…but I found yours the most enjoyable…and… the most informative! It realistically (and quite dramatically!) showed the process (and tactics!) employed by the producer, writer’s lawyer/rep, casting director, and publicist in trying to perform their jobs. It was a beautiful example of “showing” how it’s done… As a screenwriter, this was the panel that appealed to me the most. It felt like we were watching a troupe of inspired actors demonstrating the “art” of the film business.
The panel was followed by a lovely cocktail party hosted by the Swiss Consulate and Swiss Tourism. It was their way of congratulating DreamAgo for all that it has done in Switzerland through its screenwriting lab and film festival, Plume & Pellicule.
